India’s cricket captain Virat Kohli joined hands with Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Sara Ali Khan on Monday to pledge support in the fight against fake forwards on social media. They together posted a minute-long video commenting on the problem which is plaguing India.
In his tweet on Monday, 4th May, Kohli posted the following message along with his video, “All of you support us with such fervour when we play for the nation. But now the nation needs you, me, all of us to play for it. Will you do your bit? #MatKarForward”.

In the video, Kohli is seen alongside the above-mentioned Bollywood actors, who are all discussing the threats of fake forwards on various social media platforms. The video is digitally stitched together to show the actors and the cricketer sitting around a dining table. All four of them are in lockdown with their respective families.
TikTok has commissioned this video. The government had asked social media companies for stringent checks to curb the spread of misinformation that could cause harm to the social fabric of society.
