The ICC has shot itself in the foot again, not allotting a reserve day for the semi-finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Both the semi-finals clash between India and England and Australia and South Africa are scheduled to be played on the same day in Sydney. But it has been raining buckets in the city with chances of play appearing minuscule. If the matches are washed out, India and South Africa will progress into the finals by the virtue of topping their respective groups.
The decision by the international cricket board to not keep a reserve day has certainly not gone down well with the fans. They have taken to their Twitter accounts to bash the ICC on their questionable decision. Here we take a look at a few of the best reactions.
It's absolutely pouring in Sydney. Inspite of the fact that India stand to benefit if it's washed out, @ICC again missing the point by not keeping a reserve day
We can't have winners decided for every ICC event basis some rules which are based on some past events! #INDvENG

.@ICC: Looking forward to the Semi Finals to see who will progress to the big Final.
Fans: Any reserve days in case of rain?

The two #WT20WC SF are scheduled to happen today. Final is on Sunday. It’s bucketing down in Sydney today…there are two days to the finals but there are no reserve-days for semis. How on earth did the participating nations agree to this? Why didn’t ICC make it mandatory?

Not as surprising as ICC not scheduling reserve days for finals in the biggest tournament of the year and possibly lifetime for many players. Absolutely absurd.#commonsense
