Michael Vaughan wants England to make some important changes for Lord’s Test

England did not experience an ideal start to the Test series against the visiting Indian side. The hosts were on the back foot in the first Test against India, and, if rain had not intervened, Virat Kohli and his men might have gone 1-0 up in the five-match Test series.

And, ahead of the second Test match between England and India, former England skipper Michael Vaughan has suggested some changes to be made to the England Test side. Vaughan stated that if Ollie Pope is fit, he should replace Dan Lawrence in the side. Vaughan also added that there is a lot of pressure on Zak Crawley, and he needs some time away from the game.

Vaughan even added that he would send an SOS to Dawid Malan and the left-hander will bat at No.3. The former England captain also said that Haseeb Hameed should replace Dom Sibley in the batting lineup.

Ollie Pope if he’s fit I think he’ll replace Dan Lawrence. Zak Crawley at number three just looks like he needs a bit of time away from Test cricket there’s a lot of pressure on young Zak Crawley maybe just a little bit of time away, just go and work on his game and then, he’ll come back I’m sure for the Ashes series on wickets that suit his style of play.

I’d send an SOS to Dawid Malan and put him at number three. I think he’s a high-class player with a bit of experience and also I will replace Dom Sibley at the top of the order with Haseeb Hameed. I’m moving and shaking in terms of the batting lineup, somehow England will need to find a spinner because the forecast is good for Lord’s,” said Vaughan as quoted by Cricbuzz.

They need to send an SOS to Moeen Ali: Michael Vaughan

Michel Vaughan further stated that England should send an SOS to Moeen Ali as well. Vaughan concluded by stating that the three seamers who will play the next Test match for England are James Anderson, Stuart Broad, and Ollie Robinson.

It’s just who they move around I think Ollie Robinson, Stuart Broad, and Jimmy Anderson will be the three seamers but England won’t want to go with four bowlers. They need to send an SOS for Moeen Ali, then comes the all-rounder and then you can play the four seamers also,” concluded Vaughan.
