Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal’s parents recover from Covid-19

India and Royal Challengers Bangalore leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took to Twitter to announce the recovery of his parents from Covid-19. Early last month, KK Chahal, Yuzvendra’s father, who is a police officer, was hospitalized after showing severe Covid symptoms, while his mother, Sunita Devi, was being treated at home.

Chahal’s wife and dance choreographer Dhanashree Verma had informed about the developments on her Instagram account, where she had urged all to take precautions and stay safe.

April-May. It’s been really tough and emotionally challenging for me. At first, my mother and brother tested positive. I was in the IPL bubble and felt extremely helpless but did monitor them from time to time. It’s really difficult to stay away from your family. Fortunately, they have recovered,” Dhanashree said in her Instagram story.

But I lost my aunt and very close uncle due to Covid and its complications,” she added. “And now my parents in law have tested positive with severe symptoms. My father-in-law is admitted and my mother-in-law is being treated at home. I was at the hospital and I have witnessed the worst. I am taking all the precautions but… Guys please stay at home and take proper care of your family,” she wrote.

However, informing about the recovery, Chahal, on June 10 (Thursday) tweeted, “Thank you everyone for all your prayers and support. We are overwhelmed with the help that we received from our friends/ family and all your messages Folded hands Parents are healthy and we urge everyone to stay safe.

Chahal was last active during IPL 2021

Chahal was last seen in action during IPL 2021 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who had a brilliant run until the season was suspended due to a spate of Covid-19 cases emerging inside the bio-secure environment prepared for the teams. The 30-year-old did not have the best of seasons, having managed to bag only four wickets from seven games.

He is not a part of India’s UK tour, where the team is set to face New Zealand in the World Test Championship final, followed by a five-Test series against hosts England, which gets underway from August 4 at Trent Bridge. Chahal is, however, highly likely to be selected for India’s Sri Lanka tour next month, where the team will play three ODIs and as many T20Is, all running parallel to the England series.
