India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is set to miss the 2nd ODI against Australia at Rajkot after suffering a concussion during the opening fixture in Mumbai on Tuesday (January 14).
The 22-year-old copped a blow to the helmet while batting in the first innings, after which he didn’t participate any further in the match. He was then put under observation and further scans revealed no major damage, confirmed the BCCI.

As per the ICC concussion rules, Pant is now ruled out of the second game to be played at Rajkot on Friday (January 17). The southpaw will instead be flying down to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for further rehabilitation.
KL Rahul, who replaced Pant behind the wickets at Wankhede, is likely to continue shouldering the wicketkeeping duties for India. The left-hander’s availability for the final one-dayer will be decided after further assessment.
