ICC ODI Rankings: Bumrah loses top spot after subdued performances

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has lost his top spot in the ICC ODI rankings after a string of disappointing performances in New Zealand. Bumrah went wicketless in the three-match ODI series in New Zealand as India suffered a 3-0 whitewash.

Bumrah dropped 45 rating points in the rankings after fruitless series in New Zealand. This has allowed Trent Boult to climb at the top of the bowling charts, despite not featuring in a single game during the series. Boult is currently sidelined from a rib injury but is expected to be back in time for the Test series.

In the batsmen’s rankings, Indian captain Virat Kohli has maintained his stranglehold on the top spot. Kohli had a poor series against New Zealand by his own high standards, amassing only 75 runs. But with Rohit Sharma missing the series due to an injury, Kohli managed to retain his position in the rankings. Pakistan’s Babar Azam follows the two Indian superstars to round-up the top three positions.

In the all-rounder’s rankings, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi has overtaken Ben Stokes to claim the top spot. Stokes was rested for the ODI series against South Africa, leading to him losing some valuable rating points. India’s Ravindra Jadeja is the only Indian to feature in the top-ten of the rankings.
