CEAT Awards 2019: Kohli, Mandhana bag top honours

Indian captain Virat Kohli has bagged the top honours at the CEAT International Cricket Awards 2019 by being named both the International Cricketer of the Year as well as the International Batsman of the Year. Smriti Mandhana was the big winner in the women’s game, being named the International Woman Cricketer of the Year.

The awards were a further recognition for Kohli’s outstanding season after he already had a clean sweep at the ICC Awards, winning Cricketer of the Year, Men’s Test Player of the Year and the ODI Player of the Year awards.

Jasprit Bumrah, who has emerged as one of the finest bowlers in Indian cricket was awarded the International Bowler of the Year.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma and Australian ODI and T20 captain Aaron Finch were awarded the International ODI Cricketer of the Year and International T20 Player of the Year awards respectively.

It was another Indian, Cheteshwar Pujara, who was the star performer in India’s historic Test series victory in Australia, who clinched the International Test cricketer of the Year award.

Afghanistan leggie Rashid Khan walked away with the International T20 Bowler of the Year award. Indian legend Mohinder Amarnath was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Domestic Player of the Year – Ashutosh Aman
International Woman Cricketer of the Year – Smriti Mandhana
Junior Cricketer of the Year – Yashasvi Jaiswal
Cricket Journalists of the Year – Sriram Veera and Snehal Pradhan
